The OACYC has several committees that work directly with the Board of Directors. If you have an interest in contributing to the work being conducted to advance the field of Child and Youth Care in Ontario, please contact the committee you are interested in joining via the committee email.
Community Engagement
To fulfill the OACYC vision and mission by cultivating community engagement.
Legislation & Strategic Planning
Advocate for the regulation and recognition of Child and Youth Care Practitioners (CYCPs) while fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders and policy makers
Education Liaison/Intermediary
Forge strategic and resilient connections with influential leaders within the post-secondary and training field of Child and Youth Care (inclusive of highschool, colleges, universities, MCU, and internal and external training programs)
Conference
To provide opportunities for emerging voices and research in child and youth care To support student experiences in academia, professional training and an overall sense of belonging to the community.
Membership
Increase membership through organizational specific recruitment strategies
Policy, Ethics and IDEA
Develop policies and a set of ethics, which include I.D.E.A, cultural competencies and standards of practice.
Student Directors
Support potential and possibility in the Child and Youth Care student community by providing opportunities for governance, program development and implmentation
Awards
Establish OACYC awards as a standard of excellence in Child and Youth Care in Ontario
Truth, Reconciliation and Decolonization
Support potential and possibility in the Child and Youth Care student community by providing opportunities for governance, program development and implmentation
